Forty Eight Tank Swap ???
#23
Gotta ask--how is the ride? I heard one guy say it was like riding with a flat front tire compared to a regular Nighster, another say it's like riding the Dyna Fat Bob which is the most stable feeling bike out there--can you describe it for those of us who can't even get close to one yet? Is it nimble and responsive? Any issues other than the tank? I wish I could get one now for my collection. Thanks--

The ride is a little on the stiff side but I'm quickly getting used to it. It's not punishing like a Japanese sport bike and you can ride around for a couple of hours and not be in pain...unlike my old GSX-R.
Wanna know why crotch rockets are always going so fast???
The adrenaline rush masks the pain!
I think it handles well for what it is and it's very stable in a straight line. Other than the ridiculously small, stock tank I've had zero complaints with this bike.

I had my tank replaced last year, it had been dumped over by a retarted driver, and it cost about $1080 with install. I was happy for their insurance to cover it cause harley over estimated, and well it bought the new mustang seat and passanger pegs. Oh and a little off on the Dark customs coat.

The ride is a bit hard to describe for me. I grew up on old 70s dirt bikes (heavy/not like today), '85 GPZ900R, '00 CBR929RR, Shadows, Volusias, and now an Electra Glide Classic.
Compared to those it feels a little bottom heavy, like you are turning a boat with a long keel underneath the water. But, it responds and doesn't feel like I'm losing the front end.
Once I stopped trying to over analyze it I suddenly started having fun riding. It felt like I was a teenager again on my first real bike, just out having fun. No bags, no shield, no passengers, not even a sissy bar. Just a lean bike w/ a big engine that was fun to ride.
