What are you guys using for stands?
Having recently sold my superbike I am left with a set of Pit Bull front and rear stands. However, it seems like these stands might not be the right choice for a much heavier bike like the Sportster.
That being said, I am curious what you guys are using in terms of stands that allow you to easily change your oil, take off your wheels, and do whatever else you need to do.
Not sure if my stands will cut it, or if there's a better solution made specifically for Harley's or Sportsters in general.

There are motorcycle specific jacks that you can buy. If you are on a budget and want to spend less then you can get one from Sears or Harborfreight. I currently have a yellow Sears jack which is their aluminum version. If you want the best of the best you can get a J&S jack. Pitbull also makes a pretty good one if I remember correctly. I'm currently considering getting the J&S jack or at least a stand for my bike after raising it up with my yellow jack. Why? Well the yellow jack can be a real pain sometimes. If you have the money and plan on having Harleys for a while then I'd say get the J&S. Its expensive but every time I've worked on my bike I wish I had one. Check out some videos on youtube; its amazing how stable it is.

If can afford it, get a J&S jack especially if you plan to store the bike on the lift or move the bike around. I got a titan MPJ1500 just because it is low profile and I can easily slide the jack under my lowered bike. Here is a related thread.

This is probably a stupid question, but what makes the J&S so much better than the comparable Craftsman or Harbor Freight equivalent?
The price of the J&S doesn't put me off at all to be honest, it's actually not too bad. I'm just curious since it looks awfully similar in design to many of the other motorcycle / ATV jacks I've seen.

I have the Harbor Freight High Position Motorcycle Lift. The jack feet go all the way to the floor, so it easily fits under my bike. (Which a Craftsman motorcycle jack would not do.) It's no bells and whistles, but it gets the bike off the floor. I used it yesterday to swap out my front fork springs. With a coupon on Mother's Day,it was about $150.

I'm using the Pro-Series Equipment Lift Table
http://www.proseriesequipment.com/pr.../pse-tcmlw.php
It is not a lot more than the smaller lifts, and has a lot more features.
