Default 1st road trip on my "48"

I purchased a Super reduced reach seat
from Harley ($139) & couldn't wait to try
it out. Along with 11 other Harley riders,
we set out on a 200 mile road trip.

I had the only sportster & had no problems
keepin' up with the big boys. Althou I was
tired at the end of the day (up at 4:00 am)
Worked 5 hours then jumped on the "48"

Anyway, the seat was very comfortable &
had no problems with butt fatigue. My old
man says its because I have plenty of cushion
in my "Fat ***"

It's grate that you are on a 48. My wife and I are almost 70 (Feb 2011) and we ride every where together. Just got back from Yellowstone and Cody for a long weekend. I thought she would like a Sportster so I got her a 1200 Low, but she won't ride it. I think that it is really grate that you are out there. Have "FUN"!

200 miles ... cool! I'm sure you had no problem keeping up with the others.

My only concern would be the gas. How many times did you need to fill-up?

I left with a full tank & fueled 2 times.
Really didn't need to the 1st time, it
only took 1.2 gal. but we turned off on
a rural highway & I wasn't sure where
the next fuel stop was.

I averaged 48.9 mpg But we were really
hammerin' on the Interstate, 80-85 mph
So that probably hurt my average.

If you could get her to take the riders course,
she would see how much fun she is missing
by not riding her own...

Good luck & ride safe!!

Having extra fat on the butt does not seem to help me at all!
I think the more weight you put on makes riding more uncomfortable.

I like your little windshield, looks good for a windshield!

Was there not some woman in her 90's riding all around the country?

I hope to ride till I drop.

There is a lady in our club with a 1995 sportie and she has over 125,000 miles on it...no trailer queen there! Good for you on your 48!
