Default Why did Harley recall Buckhorn handlebars on 99 Sportster Customs

I just learned that there was a H-D factory recall on the Buckhorn handlebars that came as stock on my 99 Sportster 1200 Custom. My Sportster still has the original factory Buckhorns. Does anyone know why the original handlebars were recalled? Not sure of any details other than H-D replaced them with another model handlebar on the 99's and possibly a few subsequent years. If it is a safety issue, I need to be looking for another set of handlebars. The dealer advised me of the recall but had no specific information as to why they were recalled. Any info would be appreciated/. Thanks

Not 100% on if this was 99s or not, but I thought some year sporty had an issue with the handle bar clamps. Slow cracking due to vibration I believe...

EDIT: um here is the letter of notification, but it's pretty vague.

Some congressman or senators son must have had one. 1999 you said? I have been vibrating and breaking things off Harleys for years and years and the only thing I remember a recall on was the swing-arm on the early Buells and the ignition switch on the 96 Dresser models. Somebody must had kidnapped some of ***** G's family and held them hostage to get a recall.

Here is the info that I received when I checked the service records for my particular bike:

"There are one or more open safety recalls or product improvement campaigns on your vehicle. The following list contains the campaign number and a brief description:

Recall Notice: 0100: RCL:99&00 1200XL HANDLEBARS

We strongly urge you to take your motorcycle to your dealer to have the appropriate service performed as soon as possible. Should you choose to ride your motorcycle prior to this service, we urge you to be aware of this condition. Some product campaigns may have expired and you may have to pay for the service. Please see your local Harley-Davidson dealer for further details. "
