The "CK" in my bike's VIN designates an XLH 883R, but I can not find any documentation that explains the difference between XL and XLH.

I would appreciate any info concerning this.

Also, is there any way to find where a bike was purchased new and any other information specific to that bike using the VIN?

H= high(er) performance than the stock XL. Send the vin # to Harley and ask them.

 

No it doesn't. The "H" at the end of the XL as been used for a few different designations over the years. Yes, at one point, XLH or XLCH stood for Hot or California Hot. But other years, the XLH was just a standard sporty, and other years it's stood for Hugger. Mine's and '00 XLH which is a "Standard" Sporty and not the "Hugger" model that they had on the same showroom floor. I could be wrong, but I doubt it.
