How often do you service your ride? What brand and grade of oil do you use?

I service her at least weekly, and always use K-Y brand. :-)

around 3,000 miles usually, but would go up to 5,000- running mobil one -
with synthetic i try to keep my eye on how dark its getting (assuming that the darker the more polluted). last change was at a bit less than 4,000.

I had Harley do the 1,000 mile check up, then I did the 5,000 and 10,000. I use Rev Tech oil and the longer filter. 15,000 rapidly approaching.

I change all the fluids, adjust the clutches and check the chian once a year. Both bikes see about 3500-5000 miles a year. I just did both bikes this past weekend so thay have fresh fluids for winter storage and ready to go in the spring. HD calls for every 5K afte the first 1K service, but I just do mine once a year as long as i don't go over 5k miles that year.

Thanks everyone. Around here everyone is telling me that I should only use H-D- synthetic oil for my sportster. Has anyone had sucsess using another brand of synthetic oil??

Just grab a 5QT jug of Mobil-1 15W50 synthetic auto oil at Walmart for ~$20-25, and use the HD filters because they are 30 micron. The other filters that are available go down to 10 or even 5 micron and are not recommended for EVO engines....Plus, most other filters have a bypass valve in them which when it kicks in, it stops filter you oil and your running unfilter oil through the engine.
