Modified the pegs - machined them down almost to the first rubber band. Would never know they "won't" fit.

Wardawg, love the pipes on your bike, can you please tell me if they are from the Harley catalog and is there another with just all black pipes, notived yours had the chrome tips on it. Thank you all for the reply, I will have to goto local Harley shop and it would be worth it to me to pay $100 to just see if a 4.5 gallon tank will just bolt on, if not then I will need to calculate additional for the 'kit'.

Ruben... I sincerely believe that the 4.5 gallon tank does not fit the whole "retro" look of the 48... a 3.3 from the nighster / Iron is a perfect fit in my opinion... just my two rare Earth metal cents...

Thanks Joe, I do tend to agree with you and at least I can then travel another 50 miles or so, perfect to trips as the 3.3 should net me around 150 miles I suspect. Cheers!

If you keep the stock bars and mirrors you might have a clearance issue with the 4.5 gal. tank.

I put a 3.3 gal. Nightster tank on my Forty-Eight and the mirrors don't hit but they're close when you turn the bars to full lock.
