Which paint did you use? Prepping? I want to do this or get powdercoated but If I can do all the pieces myself I will.

Sanding,which paint, etc.

thanks, can PM me if you want.

This will be a quick winter project.

HD&CUMMINS, on mine I just cleaned it real good with degreaser, dried, and painted(flat black krylon, no primer). I didn't want to ruin the texture. It came out great and I rode it like that for about 15k miles with no problems. I say just spray it and if it flakes or fades then spray it again.

Ok thanks Chevy! Im going to take a look at all the parts I want removed and do this.

Ive painted a lot of things. So I can prep and paint pretty good. Ill just get some degreaser and paint. Moving into a new place here soon and has a big storage out back. Ill take all the pieces back there to do it to keep from dust, and crap falling on the wet paint.

You used the krylon paint from wal-mart?

This one

HD&CUMMINS, yep that's what I used. If you are wanting to do a glossy finish you might need a little more prep work but for a flat finish the paint sticks to the textured surface pretty well

Ok thanks man. I dont mind the glossy but sometimes to get that glossy look takes a lot of prepping. I painted the front, rear bumpers on my dodge Cummins and it took about 4 days bc of weather, temp, coats, etc. A flat black and textured is fine with me.

Thanks

I would rather suggest the Textured Black Engine Paint that Harley Sales in the Spray Can. It is actually the same Black and same Texture as the Iron/48 Engine and Covers are
