Default XL1200 R modify to nightster look?

I Very happily have been given a 04 XL1200 Sportster Roadster for my 40th birthday.

I really like the nightster look so I wonder if anyone would know what it would take to make my roadster look like a nightster.

I have a friend that does amazing paintwork so I could have the paintwork changed to vivid black or denim and the Mag wheels treated black.

It looks like seat, rear fender and indicators, side mount plated holder, perhaps lower shocks, gators on the front shock and possibly different bars so far but I am new to HD and don't know the details that make things look right.

Thanks

That's the beauty of a sportster, you can make it into anything from a stripped down bobber to a loaded up bagger.
Just make a plan and start moving towards it a little at a time, soon you'll have it just the way you want it and then you'll change it some more, enjoy the new bike.

Besides, Nightster has chopped front and rear fenders, brake/turn/running light combo., and black rims w/chrome spokes, and 11 in. rear shocks and shorter forks.
But you should just make it your own.

Thanks for all the comments, I understand that I should make the bike my own, guess I should have said 'based my look' on a nightster,

http://www.latus-harley-davidson.com...yna-Models.htm

Would one of these fairings fit a roadster with the 2 clocks(speed and tacho)?
I like the look of that.

The gators would be my choice too I like that look, is it a big job to fit them?

I like the brawler seat for HD too and judging by the photos of my bike it looks like it may have been lowered all ready, I know it has stage 1 SE pipes and filter.

I am definitely going to go for the integrated lights and indicators rather than the standard tail light.

if i were you i'd keep the bike the way its is and make friends with someone who owns a nightster. that way you can trade bikes whenever you feel like punishing yourself.

roadsters are one of hd's better sportsters.

Cool Roadster's Rawk,,

Yeah man nice scoot,,definatly make It yer own,,,
Just remember ,,
Lowering a bike Kills available lean angle, then ya need progressive
shocks to handle the limited travel and spring selection Is critical.
Spend some time In the Picture threads,,,So SOOOoo many
super sweet Sportsters In there,,,,NO two alike,,,HD forever !

Go Your Own way,,,All the Way

Thats what I did...

BTW,,,,Know what your bike needs???,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,,Miles,,lots of Miles,,
