Looking for a chain tensioner (Weld on or Bolt on) for my 2008 Nightster that I converted from a belt drive to a chain drive. I need to tighten the slack on my chain. Can someone give me some advise on a good quality chain tensioner.

If that's your bike in the attached pic, why not just use the adjusters you already have?

 

It only has about a half an inch of clearance between the chain and the top of the brake pivot arm. I need to pick up the chain about an inch to keep it from hitting the pivot arm.

 

Ohhh...I see. Have you tried spacing the main bracket for that pivot down? Putting a tensioner on it with adjusters is kind of a give-away that something was not fully thought out.
