Default OK-- FINALLY some proper pictures of my XL1200R

Took a few today. So far (as you can see in pics), what I have added is a tank bra, clock (on right handlebar), rigid side plates and short rail sissy, tapered sport luggage rack and smoked out turn signal lenses. I liked the smoked out touch. The color of the bike is black cherry pearl. But at angles, in the shade or at night it looks maroon, or dark purple or black, or anywhere in between. I took a close up of the tank to show the sparkle and actual color in direct sunlight.

I am not going to add toooo much to the bike. Next up is Stage 1, new seat, and some sort of luggage rack bag/trunk. I have been thinking about these Boss Bag trunks, either the 11 or 14 inch size (click link):
Boss Bag Trunk Bags
They are easy on, easy off - just a strap to the sissy and a strap to the rack. Plus they look real nice. I am just stuck on what size to get. Not too much of a saddle bag guy -- just want some space for a day trip.

After that -- some flamed hand grips, a derby cover and maybe a quick detach windshield. Maybe lay the license plate out. I want to keep it simple. And -- I may black out even more parts! Lotsa black with just some splash of chrome is my look. Black-powedercoated wheels and blacked out rotors would look hot. And I am thinking of taking the deflectors off the forks and side plates.

All in good time.....

Anyways....here's the pics. Hope they are not too big. I tried to make the file sizes small. I'll upload them instead of link them to make the post load quicker. IF not I can resize and repost if they cause problems. Just let me know.

Nice looking 1200R!
I like the blacked-out look and am thinking about finding some used engine cases on ebay & having the powdercoated black.

THANKS! I can't wait to stage 1 it. I have some Python 3 slip-ons that should sound sweet on it. That is my next main expenditure on it. THat a seat and a luggage bag. Everything else will be only small things.

Very nice! But I have to ask, why did you put the bra on? I have resisted even thinking about ever installing one for this simple reason. Once it's on, it is a permanant fixture. If you ever take it off, the tank paint under it will be noticeably "crazed" and the paint job will need work. What year?

I don't know if the paint will be "crazed", but it likely will be hazy. I'd ditch the bra.

Hmmmmm...I'll have to think about all that.

I put the bra on because unfortunately I already put a few small scratches on the tank from a belt buckle. I thought the bra would help.

Just a hint - I used to wear my belt buckle to the side (left in my case) when I was playing guitar for some extra bucks in high school and college (back in the day of the one-room schoolhouse - LOL!). The buckle immediately stopped ruining the backs of my guitars...
