Default nightster mini apes on custom - price installed

just got back from dealer. to install the nightster mini ape set up on my 09 custom is going to cost around $1000.00 for bars, risers, speedo mount, braided lines, relocating the turn signals and internal wiring. not too bad is it? it doesn't seem like it is that difficult of a job, just time consuming and i don't really have the time to get into the project.

for another $150 ish i can use a joker fork mount speedo. i think i may go that route. does anybody have the joker speedo mount and their turn signals on the forks? seems like it might be too much clutter.

to much man your better off going it yourself its way easy i did it with help of another person and it was easy. only took 4 hours and the whole relocating the turn signals to the fork is like two brackets and some torque bolts. do it yourself and save the money. will cost you only oil for the primary and the joker speedo mount is great don't have one but have heard many good things. good luck if you need help ask there are lost of people on here that can help you out.

Doesnt seem to bad. Install on just bars and cables is about $300-$400 around here.

If you know about bikes and general mech. you can do it yourself. A lot of people have. I want to do mine myself but seems like a lot. I need to have another person help me.

Have a guy who offered just waiting on our schedules to line up.

Have a service manual and torque wrench on hand.
Label things with painter's tape.
Take pictures before disassembly as well as during.
Getting those pins out of the plug housing and bleeding the front brake are the most difficult parts of the job.
Pay attention to your front brake light switch.

At some point, it will look something like this:

Yep $1,000 is right. If you do it yourself take your time and like everyone else said label everything and take pictures....you thank yourself later. I have done 4 bar swaps and all of which were internal wired, it is time consuming especially when you are Consuming

do it yourself, and go to autozone and buy a little pick and hook kit, its like 7 dollars and makes messing with those molex connectors a pleasure

TOO MUCH! I am still kicking myself for paying HD to install my mini-apes and cables. The total for me was around $850. I used to be a gotdammed BMW mechanic for cripes' sake. Got lazy.

As for the minis, love them, but am now looking at the Burly 16"s. You can get them and the cables for about $300 (drag specialties), which I can order through my HD dealer and their MVP gets me an add'l 12% off that. Installation - this time - will be free, I'm doing it my damned self.
