Clutch Servicing Update
Pulled the clutch out of my 2004 883C with 28,115 miles on the odometer.
The friction discs were only worn about 30% and appeared like they would have lasted 100,000 miles.
The grenade plate was 100% like brand new with no play at all and no deformed rivets (Looked totally brand new).
My Local Bike shop replaced all of the friction plates along with the additional friction plate, sandwiched between the two new steel plates
(The Brand of clutch: Alto)
Bike shifts perfect (Never had a problem, but changed out the clutch because of the fear of the grenade plate).
No squealing (as other have had with their replacements).
After a very thorough inspection there was no reason to change out the original factory clutch, but we did it anyways
Of course I have the peace of mind that the clutch in brand new.
Some have had issues with the grenade plate.
I now can say I have had mine removed..

I also plan on doing it at some point for piece of mind but Hammer Performance recently made a very good how to video replacing the clutch pack that got me thinking. In it, he said that it's high horsepower engines that cause the rivets to fail. I was going to start a thread here asking if anyone has had the grenade go off with only Stage 1, be it 883 or 1200.
