Default Miles per tank

Hey everyone. I got my first bike, a 883 Sportster Custom. I did some searching and did not find a real answer. In short, how many miles will get out of the 4.5 gallon tank on my Custom 883? On the highway and city. I won't be gettin on it hard all the time as the bike is mostly for driving to work and a few highway trips every now and then.

TIA guys and gals......

YMMV but anywhere from 140-200 miles per tank. Use the trip odo for best results on YOUR bike and you will get a good feel after a few tanks.

What year 883? Fuel pump in '07+ takes some space and eliminates the "reserve".

Still didn't say what year.

On my 07 1200C the low fuel light pops on anywhere from 100 to 110 miles. Never taken it much farther than that since there is no "reserve" and running a fuel pump dry is not the best thing for it.

I've got a 2011 883 with 4.5 gallon tank. I average around 58 miles a gallon on country roads. That'd be about 250 if I ran it dry. I usually top off between 150 and 200.

You will get a minimum of 50 mpg on your 883 regardless of how you ride it. You should be checking your mileage at every fill up, then you will know for sure.
