Made a suicide shift, jockey shift? whatever this kind is called, for my nightster.

Hey all thanks for the comments. I plan to change the clutch cable asap. Streetfighter, I hope you can get one tabbed up. That would be cool. I did see this cool one on google image that you might think about a variation of too. The guy ran a bracket off of his engine where most people relocate their coil. The shifter lever was attached right there and he ran a linkage all the way down to the stock shifter peg. It looked good and it would keep a lot of the pressure off of the shifter peg.

Hey thanks again all. I am not 100% sure on how to make a clutch cable but my buddy has shortened one before. He just cut it down where he wanted it and the used this thing on the end. Idk what it's called but it's like a little ball that slips over the end of the cable and holds on with a set screw. I've seen some guys completely removing the adjuster. I've seen some guys cutting the cable down to the adjuster and using that length and I've seen some guys cutting about 3 inches below the adjuster and 3 inches or more above it then soldering the cable all back together. I've never actually done it myself though. Idk how you'd make one from scratch though. Hope that makes sense.

Okay so Ive been looking at clutch cables online just to get an idea about them. Im seeing cables for the nightster with an adjuster and some without an adjuster. Now as Ive said above, Ive seen people just cutting the adjuster out all together and using the bottom half of their clutch cable. From what Ive gathered, theyre just cutting right under the adjuster, cutting the remaining housing to match the stock travel length, soldering a piece back on the end that will hold it on to the clutch lever, or as I said above, doing like my buddy and slipping that set screw ball thing on the end, and running it like that. Thing is though, Ive never heard anyone say if it works well or even feels comfortable. What do you guys think?
