All I could cram in there which is 22. Need longer screws for more. The NRHS website shows a dyno test readout where they started with 12 disc's, did a pull, added more discs, did a pull, and so on all the way up to 26 discs. And the more discs they added, the better the mid and top range numbers got with no bottom end loss. I started with 18 and it was fine. But once I started adding discs, and got it dyno tuned [with 22 discs], there was definite increase in the top end performance, and my ET numbers started dropping with speed increasing. I never ran in the 12's until I loaded up the disc's.

18 is a good place to start, but don't be shy about adding more. You can always take them out if you don't feel your bike improving. And you're carrying a lot of cam and heavy compression on your motor, so it may act differently than mine with stock cam and lower compression. But that's what makes them so trick, you can custom tune the exhaust to your motor's needs and your riding style.

[Gawd, I sound like I have interest in the company, huh? I don't, I just believe in them.]

That was recorded with a Zoom Q3 recorder that's specifically made to get a good accurate stereo sound. I record my band shows and guitar demo videos with it and it's surprisingly accurate.

The sound of my bike reminds me of a military helicopter with an extremely deep low end rumble that sounds unbelievable.

I had a Dyna with Short Shots and it was badass too, but it didn't have anywhere near the low end rumble this Sportster has with a 2-1 on it.

Hey thanks man! I'm very tempted to get that tank painted all gloss black with either no logos at all or maybe some old style HD badges.

I admit the big huge "Sportster" logo has grown on me a little bit, though. I hated it with a passion at first.

For a sporty, the best performing 2 into 1 will be either the Supertrap, Thunderheader or D&D (take your pick, I prefer fatcat)

The ST will be the most tunable but perhaps not the best sounding. The D&D's are great pipes as far as fit and finish but the sound is a love hate thing, some love it some hate it. The Thunderheader is the deepest sounding LOUD pipe I have heard. I love the sound, I just am not thrilled with the look.

For my money, when the wife is ready for new pipes, it will be a D&D fatcat. My $.02
