Hi all. I finally got my first Harley Davidson.

It's an 01 Sportster 883 with the 1200 kit, and some V&H pipes (I believe) and some extra chrome. It sounds great, and Im very excited about becoming part of the HD crowd. I've wanted a HD since I was a kid, and now I finally have one. I already have so many plans for it, and I'm sure Im going to be bugging all of you with my newbie questions. I've already had two good experiences with other Harley owners, just b/c I own one. It's fouling some plugs at the moment, either b/c I only have done some stop and go riding around town, but I think it's running rich, b/c the plugs come out all black and covered in soot. [:@]


There are some things I want to change (sell) , such as the bars, and the seat, as well as removing the sissy bar. But, that will probably all get done over the cold months. The first thumbnails are how it sits now. The last ones are of how I want it to be asap!

Congratulations! You'll love it. With your pic's I think we have the same pipes, mine are Samson's Drag and thier great. Not sure but I'll swear it. anyway, have fun and ride safe!

Thanks bud! Mine have a small turndown at the rear, which the pic doesnt show. Im not exactly sure as to what kind they are. Im gonna have to get in touch with the previous owner. [sm=confused06.gif]

hey i got a 2001 883 to 1200 conversion with vance and hines pipes, my bike is the same color as yours as well.

 

Your welcome... No matter on the pipes as long as you like the sound. I've messed with baffles to find a sound I like, if your's are tuned to you taste and like the looks jump on and ride. Can't get enough of ride'in mine. As far as your other questions, you'll find tons of resources on this site... Just do a search for your question and Pa_Boom!
