I'm read through a few threads but can't find the answer. I'm looking to purchase the One-Piece Detachable Passenger Sissy Bar Upright - Gloss Black P/N 51146-10, but am unsure which mounting hardware to buy. Is it 53529-04 or 53544-04. The bike is an 08 XL1200N. Also, does anyone use any of the covers for the hardware and which size did you get. Thanks in advance.

 

Large,just got a set on ebay $11..make sure you don't get the bag docking hardware,i got mine on ebay without the torx bolts for $20 then got the thee eights by one and a quater allen heads at ace hardware for $4 in black..so caps in black $11 hardware $24 .luv ebay,,,shipping is worth not go to the harley stealer for me

 

51146-10 black sissy bar($200), 53529-04 docking hardware($40), and 52631-07 backrest pad($60). Thats what I have on my 48.

 

You will need two of the short docks, and two of the longs. Just make sure that is what the dealer gives you. They may not think about it.

 

the 53529-04 docking hardware($40) kit comes with 2 shorts and 2 long bolts! You just take the original bolts out that hold the fender on and put the new docking bolts in place of them. After that the sissy bar locks into them.
