Docs Noob Question about trailing a bike.
Hello Ladies and Gents,
I'm planning on renting a uhaul trailer to bring my bike back to austin and I was wondering what the proper way to tie down my nightster to the trailer?
So far I've read that you need at least 4 for a 4 point tie down but can have 3 for 3point.
As for tying them down, do i just put two on the front forks then have the front shocks compress?
WHat can i do with the rear? i only have 3 straps

Compress front forks half way. Have the 2 front straps angled forward (towards the front wheel chock). The 2 rear straps need to be tied off at 90 degree angle to prevent lateral movement. I would recommend buying another strap. Don't skimp on the straps...your chain is only as strong as your weakest link. You don't want to see your bike tip over on the highway. Just my recommendation, take it or leave it.

The one time I trailered my bike I passed the strap around the lower shock mount on the swing arm on both sides. The bike never budged on a 1500 mile round trip. Also make sure you have a chock or wheel lock from the front wheel to prevent the front end from washing out.
