Question for the guru's
Looking at the l/h side of my engine, b/t the cylinders is the intake manifold, on the very top of the manifold is what looks like a hole with a orange rubber grommet on, and on top of that is some type of sensor (I think). Does anyone know what this is for? My reason for asking is because when I did my 'wire tuck' I did not realize it but I pulled that sensor where it was cocked up and not seated like it should be. I had noticed that around that time my bike started spitting back thru the carb and the exhaust sounded a bit different, long story short, I put it back on the way it should be and it just aggravated the spitting problem, any help with this will be appreciated, thanks guys...

The MAP sensor and MAP seal are located on top of the intake manifold, but that should be held in place by a by a MAP sensor clip. It sounds like the plug-in connector came loose and the MAP sensor needs to be reconnected. It will definitely affect performance.

All you can do is check your connections. You need to make sure that the connection is plugged in securely, also where the MAP sensor connects into the manifold is a seal. You need to make sure the seal is properly positioned inside the manifold and is not leaking.
The MAP sensor is P/N 32316-99 and comes with a new MAP seal. The cost at MSRP will be around $43.00 at your local dealer. You can probably find one cheaper online somewhere if you look around.

$125.00 would make one believe that that is an installed quote. Glad you found one at $39.00, I could have found you a link for 39.99, but you would have to pay for shipping which also makes it cheaper to go to a dealer.
I live close to 3 dealers, and I bet I would get a different price from each one of them. Good luck!
