You may have to drill into the bottom horizontal member which holds the forks - can't remember what it is called. That is how most stock headlights are mounted, including C model sportsters.

I mounted a 7'' light on mine, but I had a stock bottom mount already. It just bolted right on. I really like the look a lot better than the bullet-shaped stock headlight that came on mine, not sure if it throws any more light though.

I put one on my Nightster a while back.
Took it off though.
Didn't quite like the look of it.

You'll have to drill a hole in the triple trees to mount one.

Not sure of the make of the light. I picked it up on Ebay for around $40. It was in bad shape. It was chrome but scratched and pitted pretty bad. Cleaned it up and painted it. As for mounting it, it came with a small block that bolts onto the triple tree. I already had a hole drilled in the triple tree from a previous install. If you don't have a hole in your triple tree, just remove your front wheel and fender and drill a hole to match your mounting block.
Also, I already sold the light last year, but do a search on Ebay and see what you can find. I'm sure there's something on there you will like.

I bought a new 7" headlight from ebay for about $50, it was chrome but I painted it black. got mounting block from dennis Kirk for a few bucks. My Nightster mounts the 5" headlight to the fork. I had to bottom mount my 7" to triple tree, thus drilling 1/4" hole on the triple tree. I bought a Sylvannia bulb and it throws a wide bright light. The only pic I have is the one in my id.

Got mine off eBay also (see HERE). Had it powder coated. I was really pleased with the look. Wasn't a fan of the iconic visor headlight on the Sportys.

My wife wants the Arlen Ness headlight fire trim ring and this might be the only way she gets it.
