Default buying spark plugs, oil and etc

If I plan on changing the oil and spark plugs on my bike, do I need to go to a local harley shop to get that stuff? Or can I go to like a autozone or pepboys etc? Just curious

You can get that stuff anywhere, but if you don't know what you need it's easier to just got to HD and tell them what you have and they'll hook you up. All the plugs are pre-gapped so don't bother with a gapping tool like I did (though possibly good to have).

The plugs are made by Champion.....you can get the ones that say Harley Davidson on them for $12 each or the ones that say Champion on them (in the same font and color, by the way lol) for $2....filters, I go with the HD stuff....I'm just funny that way.

Any oil you want as long as it's proper for the bike (proper weight, as far as synthetic or non-synthetic, it's up to you).

the auto parts store should have cross-references for spark plugs and oil filters that are appropriate for your cycle. you will want to probably want 20w-50 oil (or some single weight oil) and fluid for your trans/primary. there are hundreds of opinions as to brand and type of oil-just ask anyone!

You should always check the plug gap before installing your plugs.

I hate topics liek this. Just go to the dealer and get the stuff that is made for the bike. It does not cast all that much and you know the bike is going to be good with it. The HD plugs are pre-gapped, but I always check them and I have had a few way off.

The last place ON EARTH that I buy plugs, oil, etc. is the dealer. IF you have that much extra $$, I'll send you my PayPal account number...

+1. Just make sure you know what to get for your bike.
