Do you ride solo or 2 up?

You are riding a bike with probably the worst suspension. When I had mine I put on 12.5" progressive 412's and a mustang vintage wide solo (14.5"). World of difference. I tried the mustang daytripper solo on my new custom, lousy for me, worse than stock, sent it too Mean City cycles, they greatly improved it but not enough, couldn't make it wider or really thicker just reshape and put in memory foam. I am 6', 220lbs. Sold it and bought another wide vintage.

I'm about to install Progressive 412's at 12.5". From everything ive heard this will soften the ride. If its still a rough ride I'll change the seat too. How much do you weigh? If youre gonna two up, you should probably do your shocks anyway

I like my mustang fastback seat. Much better over the stock seat. But most of my riding is around town and shorter trips. 1 hour at max. So there may be better for longer riding.

Bumping an old thread. Any more opinions as I'm in the market for a solo seat that looks good and feels better

Frank B post above - Mustang Day Tripper - may be the answer the Jonny R is looking for:
Retain same style and add comfort.

Nightster suspension - a joke perhaps - just treat the ride the same as a rigid frame and enjoy.
Seat, longer shocks, better fork springs, tires, handlebar seat to footpeg triangle set up.
All change the OEM style.

This seat has been the most comfortable out of everything Ive tried. Ive even been riding it more than my dyna because it is. Had to order a new seat for my Dyna last week Because of it! Its the Harley Cafe Solo seat. Hands down it is my favorite solo seat for the sportster now.

Exactly. The suspension and ergonomics are completely effed up on that motorcycle- that's why it's uncomfortable. It's not made to be comfortable- it's made to look a way that some people think is "cool".

With the pegs in front of the seat, there's no way to distribute your body's weight- you're simply taking every road impact straight up your pooper. No wonder your *** hurts.
