Default 2007 Sportster Low specs and price

I found an 07 1200 Sportster Low for my wife. Is this bike fuel injected or carb? Also he is asking $6,400. Sound like a good deal? NADA Average Retail says $6,900. I'm sure it could be bought for $6000.

Thanks

Why pay anything more then trade in. Private seller is not going to give you a waranty as a dealer would. So don't pay retail. No body pays retail for a used car truck or bike.

KBB trade in is $4,825.

He needs you more then you need him. Either he needs the money, wants to buy a big twin and trying to get someone to give him more then the dealer will, or tired of posing and decided his mid life crisis is over.

I think 2004 last year carb. Someone that knows for sure can post.

All good points. I actually looked up the specs on the 07's and they are FI. My wife's 05 was still a carb. Not sure when they went FI but that is a big plus. I had a hard time keeping the 05 tuned but it would run like a raped ape. I'm sure the 07 will to.

'07 was the first year of FI. '04 was the first year for the rubber mount engine.

BUT!!! trade in is what a stealer will give someone when they are buying a new bike, and they are going to make a profit both off the new bike and the used bike. While KBB does not list it for motorcycles, they do list a market value for private seller on cars, which is halfway between trade in and retail..

The point of selling it as a private seller is to make a little more than the dealer will give you, and sell it to someone for less than the dealer will later. Win/win situation.
