Default Question about oil filter part numbers

I need to change the oil in my 06 Sportster for a four thousand mile trip out west in two weeks from today and wanted to use the extended length chrome filter. I called the dealer to see if they had it before I go there and asked for the #63813-90T and they don't don't have it but they have the #63813-90 in chrome. Is there any difference in these filters. Is the #63813-90 a 30 micron filter like the -90T? Any help would be greatly appreciated.

Thanks

The 63813-90 will physically fit your sportster but is a much smaller micron filter. I believe it's for the Dyna series bikes. CHarley said to not use that filter on Sportsters, only the 30 micron filters and those part numbers are:
63796-77A short chrome and the extended length chrome 63813-90T number you already had.

That's the info I was looking for. I wasn't sure if it has the same micron size of filter media as the -90T. Now I need to find a dealer that has the -90T in stock. I have the short chrome one, 63796-77A, already but wanted to use the longer one, 90T, for this trip in two weeks. Thanks for your help.

A lot of dealers don't stock the 63813-90T filters anymore, since it's an EVO filter, and there is not as big a demand for them.

You can order the filter on-line from Lake Shore Harley. They run about $7.16 last time I looked. Just enter the p/n in the box on the left side of the webpage, under where it says Advanced Search. Order several at a time to save on shipping.

Thanks cHarley. I knew if anyone would know where to get them it would be either you or oldfenderguy. You guy's are a big help to all that need it. I'll order some from them so that I have it when I need it. Thanks.
