2012 Sportster 1200 Custom Ride Review
#11
Even though I am new to Harleys and at first I thought my choice of a 2011 XL1200C was the wrong choice. The more I ride it the more I am enjoying it.
Getting used to the unexpected by me but typical "Harley" noises and vibrations has taken some getting used to, but with posts like your original review in this thread gives some teeth to what ones expectations should be of the bike.
Now after 1000 miles on my Sporty I have to say I think I made the right choice and look forward to many more miles.
BTW the wider front end on these new models was a big factor in my choice of this bike.
I just love the beefy look of the front spacing and tire.

I agree completely, this bike is really a hoot to ride! We just bought one for my wife and I've stolen a few quick rides. Only had it a week so I haven't had a chance to go for a long ride, but I'm looking forward to it. My bike is a 650 Vstrom and while it is a nice bike, it really doesn't have the soul that an HD has.

Great review indeed! I just purchased a 1200 Seventy Two Sporty and am having a blast with it. My other bike is a Road King which I also really enjoy, but the handling, agility and responsiveness of the 1200 makes it a completely different riding experience. It's absolutely what a motorcycle should be.

I have a 2012 1200C and love it a lot. The large front wheel takes the Sportster Custom up a notch in my book. The 48 and the 72 are both nice, but with their stingy 2 gal. gas tanks you have to fill them with gasoline every day. I'm very anxious to see the next model improvements coming for 2013.
