It's air cooled, as long as you are ok, it is ok. As for winterizing, if it is going to sit for a long period of time over winter you may want to disconnect the battery. As for me, I start mine once a week throughout the winter season. Leave it run long enough to drink a beer and wish it was warmer.

Be careful in the winter with short starts and short running time. The heat in the Engine burns off any moisture that builds up due to condensation. Short running times does not "steam off" that moisture. Plus, less than about 1,500 rpm will not charge the battery very well anyway.

Seven 7......

The thing is this for what i have learned so far...... In the cooler weather, condensation can accumulate slightly in the oil, from the cold engine parts..... What happens is the condensation freezes and them melts when you start the bike and gets in the oil..........

BUT........... If you ride it for at least 30 minutes and bring the engine temp up to normal ....it will burn off....... which is good......... The thing to avoid is starting it up in the cold for 5-10 minutes and then shutting it back off......... this type of action only hurts the bike............... If you are gonna start it....ride it for 30 minutes or longer if you can..... to get the temperature up to normal.....

after the winter. Its a good idea to have the oil replaced and then you'll be ready for the new riding season....

Happy biking.Hope this helps....

I think the only problem riding in the cold will be carburetor icing, just run it will the enricher on for a bit longer till it gets hot and you should be fine. Winterize? If you plan to ride the bike in the winter, leave it as is. If you don't plan to ride it at all, winterize it.
