Thanks to the cleaning chemical that didn't get rinsed off at the dealership, and a shop foreman that was just a good dude, I had new rocker boxes put on my 48 this weekend.

The lower rocker box came in crinkle black on the 2008 XL1200R, so I paid the $50.40 difference to get those, and the dealership did the rest. The fact that they are the factory coated ones provides a little extra peace of mind as well.

I think it looks better, though there is plenty of stuff for me to work on in the motor area this winter during the freezing rain season.

 

Looks good, but how about a picture that gives a better picture of the entire bike?

 

It's just a stock 48 that I will transform over time, but I took some more pics just the same.
