Default Wrinkle Finish Motor Cleaning

Ok, got an '08 Nightster with the wrinkle finish grey motor. There is a spot of something on the case, just below the air filter that won't come off. What the hell do you use to clean that wrinkle finish paint? I thought about lacquer thinner and a toothbrush for the spot, but I don't want to screw up the finish and make things worse.

Any ideas??

No first hand experience, but people have recommended that S-100.

I use Simple Green. It's powder coated. Not paint.

How about trying some dawn dishwashing liquid on a toothbrush or a little comet?Simple green is good stuff and so is mean green but watch it on hot metal it can and will leave stains.I usually water the mean green down about 50/50 and try it first.
You might want to read this thread before using the s100.

I was talking about the S100 engine brightener product, not the total cycle cleaner. It comes in an aerosol can

Both come in an aerosol cans.Bad news if you get it on your polished aluminum.
Do some research before using it.S100 Engine brightener you spray it on and leave it on.Sounds like more ways to collect dust to me.And i personally don't want to just cover up the mess without cleaning it correctly first. This should be used only as a final step if you don't mind the dust collecting.Might as well just use a silicon spray to brighten it.Besides the engine S100 Engine brightener isn't a cleaner anyway its a protectant after cleaning.
Not to say it don't work but its not my preference.
