this is driving me crazy!!! i have a 2001 883 hugger, with a stage 1 dyno jet kit, vance and hynes straight shot pipes ( cut the baffles to keep some backpressure and have flow) ngk iridium plugs, and accel plug wires.... no matter what temp the bike is at, or time of day, just off idle, i get carb farts..... from my research i guess this bike is stock with a keihin carb, and the slow speed jet is a #45? i live in CT, so not much above sea level.... doing the dyno jet kit woke the bike up, and i removed the plug to adjust the slow speed jet.... turned it counter clockwise all the way till it stopped... bike ran better, but still farts when you barely roll the throttle.... will a #48 slow jet fix this??? its stock with a #45 from what ive read, and runs fine at any other rpm. def a lean cough, it wont do it with choke on... dont want to ride around with the choke on, that will foul these $30 plugs... please help!

$3 Champions will do the same as $30 plugs will. I run regular NGK's...

 

Take out that dyno jet kit and just put in 1 size large idle and main jet and it will run perfect. That lighter spring they send in those kits causes a lot of trouble in a lot of bikes, to much air to fast and FART! Dyno jet kit might have some use in this world but I haven't found it yet.
