Hey guys I just got my 2016 sportster 72 and I love it except I don't like the range on the tank. I want to put a 4.5 gallon on so I ordered one from jpcycles. People said it will fit, has anyone done this? And what other parts do I need to complete the tank swap? I already have a guy to prep and paint it I just need to know if it'll actually work and if I need to order anything else. Thanks

 

It's been done many times. As long as you bought an EFI tank with the hole in the bottom for the fuel pump you should be good to go. Just move your pump over from your stock tank. Some guys just buy a second pump for the new tank to make swapping back and forth easier.

 

Simple search will net you the help you seek, topic has been covered numerous times in the past. No issues running a 3.3 or 4.5 gallon though, you will want to verify your seat will work if it has been swapped as well.
