Default Wide Glide front end on a Sporty. Anybody done it?

Saw an American made triple tree kit with all necessary spacers to make a wide glide front end fairly cheap at JP Cycles. Anybody done one of these? Wondering if it would look crazy on such a narrow bike.

I've done it on an older model model sporty, it doesn't really look goofy, when you take into consideration how far your primary cover & pipes hang over the frame then the WG really suites it, just make sure you have the right width handlebars. just google Sportster Wide Glide Front End. Best Wishes-Joe

Thanks Joe. BTW, all the best on getting yours back together and running. That case looked nasty.

A lot of people have done it. Little "out of place" with a skinny 21" front tire, better looks and handling with a 19" front tire, best look with a fat 16" front tire...fork brace considered a must!

The real reason I was thinking about it was I acquired a 21" smoothie rim off a night train and it's too wide for my front fork spacing. I'm going to try to trade it for a chrome spoke front 21" rim for my bike and keep the narrow front end.
