2011 Sportster Superlow UPPER Triple Tree Replacement Question
Is there a way to get rid of this triple tree top so I can add risers and not just change the handlebars? It comes with the risers already cast into the triple tree. So any new risers are probably out of the question and I heard that you can replace the triple tree top to one with no risers so you can put your own. Anyone done it or know what bike to get it off?

I was at Ronnies but it lists a part for the upper triple tree but not sure how to cross reference it. I checked other models and they have a triple tree but it doesn't tell me whether it will plug in or not.

Hi guys and gals, I'm a new member to forum and appreciate all the helpful info I have received while sneaking around in the past.
J&P cycles may have just the riser solution you are looking for:
Rox Speed FX Pivoting Handlebar Risers
http://www.jpcycles.com/product/503-426
I also have a 2011 superLow and found that I would like to bring the stock bars a little closer to me. I have the HD service manual as well as the HD parts manual and found them both to be inaccurate as to the type of top triple tree installed on the XL883L. Both manuals list the top bracket as being installed on the XR1200X only. I just ordered the Rox Speed FX Pivoting Handlebar Risers and will let you know how they work out when I receive them.

I don't really see much of a problem with the speedometer for my application since these risers are only 2 Inches high and allow both forward and rear adjustment. I have the chrome dual speedometer and tachometer installed on by bike. The stock speedometer mount will remain in it's current position and will clamp these risers to the existing triple tree mount. The handlebars will mount onto these new risers allowing me to adjust them closer to me for a more upright sitting position. I'm 5' 4" with a short reach and find myself leaning forward to reach the bars. Not really comfortable for an old guy. These look like the solution I need without having to change the bars.
Measure 2 inches up from your current handlebar location and see how much of the speedometer is obscured. I checked mine and found that it could possibly block the odometer but that's O.K. with me.
I ordered them yesterday and don't expect to receive them for a few days. Hopefully I wont have to replace any cables or the front brake line. I'll be the guinea pig this time and will get let everyone know how it works out.

Yes, you can replace just the upper tree bracket. The lower should include the axle shaft. There will be a series of shims and bearings on each one. You will need to relocate the speedo and dummy lights, as they are part of the upper riser mount (well, actually they ARE the mount). I don't recall if they are molded into the tree or not (probably are) but an upper tree from a Dyna should interchange, not 100% on that though. Come to think of it, I believe they are integrated into the trees as well.
