i have a 2008 nightster, and my tail light doesn't work when i press on my foot brake( rear brake), but it works when i use my front brake lever

 

My 06 is the same. Broken rear brake sensor. fvck it.

 

my rear tire was just replaced a few weeks ago, i guess they hit it, thanks

 

The rear brake switch is pressure activated via the hydraulic brake line. The switch unit is tucked behind the rear master cylinder (you'll see two wire connectors attached). They go out anywhere from 2-10 years. Fairly simple job to put in a new one, but bleeding the rear brake-line afterwards is a little bit of a task. It's probably a coincidence that your tire was changed.
