Primary Oil leak under starter motor, ontop tran case
3 days ago I found oil pooling ontop the tranny case underneath the starter motor. when I place the bike on its kickstand, the oil will slowly run off and leave a nickle to quarter-size dot of oil in the drive way.
This oil only leaks when the bike is running, not at rest.
I took it to my mechanic yesterday. he looked it over carefully with a flashlight to find where the leak is coming from.
He determined it is not motor oil, rather it is primary oil leaking. It is difficult to see where the leak is coming from but he can only guess it is coming from the Stator Plug.
my mechanic said it is nothing to really worry about since it is not a gushing leak and the cost to remove the starter motor to fix the leak would not be worth the money.
I have included pictures.
Is this a common problem? How could have this leak happen? Has anyone ever had this happen to them? Is there a quick easy fix?
