Default 6" round intake with exposed filter?

I'm looking for a 6" exposed round filter for my 08 "N". I hear the Arlen Ness has a crap cast Al. back plate, and the Screaming Eagle is supposedly plastic, but the HD site shows cast. I'm still uncertain of the filter media. Fuel Moto doesn't offer anything for the XL's.

It must use a tapered 6" K&N filter and be available in black. I am trying to find a suitable alternative to the black Heavy Breather. I don't like the looks or idea of a 4" filter. Thanks!

I don't know how much you're willing to spend, but for quality and performance you won't beat Dan Dunn's products.

Here's the link for his round intake with exposed filter:

It's the one I have, but I changed the cover to a HyperCharger trap door.

It looks alright, but also more like 4" flat than 6" tapered like the SE and AN style.

The NRHS round is 5-5/8" across with a 5" K&N filter.

Here's an alternative to the Heavy Breather. 100% Made in the USA. Fantastic company to do business with!

Thanks man, any real differences between this, the Screamin' Eagle, and K&N versions of this intake other than price? @ $225 this one is even more tempting.

ETA: Well, $20 more for the pre-filter. Not sure if the other include the pre-filter or not. This one is available in denim and has less chrome on the filter itself so that's a plus. I don't see any deals on them in the interwebs though...maybe they'll offer a black Fri. special or something.

Hey Jackal, check our site in the next 5-10 days. We are releasing a line of 6" round filters systems for Sportys. Not sure if it will be what you are looking for design wise, but they kick *** performance wise and give good leg clearance.

Kevin you know I'm a sucker for DK products. (LOVE those FAT powdered brackets) I'm probably gonna be ALL OVER one of those 6" intakes. Can't wait! Will they be tapered like AN / SE or flat like your 4" intakes? K&N filter or other? Cotton gauze media?

Ya know...a finned black outer cover would be PERFECT! ...for me at least. ...or a Gadsden / Live Free or Die theme.
