Default Superlow Merlot

Hello all,

Got my superlow about 6 months ago. Made some changes: 48 seat and handlebar, 883R rear suspension. Some skulls to complete the picture. Different bike this way, but much better handling and cornering... Coooool!

Cheers fron Italy! :-)

Default Love Italy!

Welcome to the forum and from Oklahoma! We traveled to Europe in 2010 to attend the International HOG rally in Lugano. Had a great time and some beautiful riding there Great looking bike! Really like the skulls that you have added.

Default Welcome Hexnut!

Hexnut, great looking Superlow. Welcome to the forum and from Oklahoma! You will find a lot of information on here.

I bought my Superlow in 2011 and really love riding it. Have 18,000 miles on it right now My longest trip so far has been 2700 miles which I did in July when we rode out west. Wonderful trip! Had no problems keeping up with my husband on his Heritage either.

I've added the same things to my bike that you have - minus the Progressive shocks/fork springs - plus a few more things. I took off the stock foot pegs and added mini-floorboards - gives me more foot room. I also put on a 2" riser, Kuryakyn grips, adjustable brake/clutch levers, extended foot shifter, covered the brake pad with a rubber pad (less slippage when feet get wet), Mustang seat with backrest, lockable HD saddlebags, plus some other items that make it more comfortable when riding long distances I might have to check out the Progressive items that you mentioned.

Anyway, welcome and we look forward to hearing from you. Joan

I recently purchsed a 2014 883 Superlow that I ride about 90% of the time but sice my wife also rides I got the superlow so she can sit comfortably on it. We haven't made any changes except for the forward controls and pillion seat yet, but once we settle into it I'm sure they will come.

Here it is at a car show last weekend....

And a shot of my wife on her first ride......

WYKKED, how do you like the forward controls? I bought a '14 1200 Superlow this spring, thinking about putting on forward controls to stretch my legs a little more forward. The dealer suggested putting stock pegs in the current control location so I have the option where to put my feet.

Another Merlot SuperLow here! Mrs WYKKED looks fine, as does that merlot custom car behind.

As for forwards, I for one cannot get on with them and recommend Rebel that you try a bike with them before spending out on your own bike. Could be a waste of money!

I'm 6' and really find the forward controls great for the longer rides. They also don't get in the way when I have to put the feet down at the lights. My Wife is only 5'6" and we tried a few bikes at the dealership with both mid and forward controls and she actually prefered the forward controls. At the end of the day it is a personal choice and trying before you buy is the best suggestion.

Hey grbrown, were they originally called Merlot? our bike is "Mystic Red" on the 2014 color chart but it could easily be described as a red wine color.

I have the same bike (below). Where did you get your fwd controls? That is one of my first mods coming this winter. I too am 5'6" and can't stand the pegs always getting in the way when I drop my feet.

I had the Harley dealer here in Melbourne fit them before I picked it up.
