Default Metal Flake Paint

who here has had a metal flake paint job? Or even just the tank painted? Cost?
Im trying to get a ballpark estimate so I know what to expect. I am really wanting to get my tank sprayed with silver flake, possibly some pinstriping

I had my 2.2 done in Galaxy silver it's a GM color and it's got some really coarse flake in it. I had a coworker do it and he charged me $100 and it came out flawless. Now I am gonna have him do my 3.3 in PPG Vibrace Ruby Slippers Red. Not sure on the cost of that one yet.

my friend had his tank and rear fender painted and striped. Lots of money for a professional custom paint job. $1600.

The reds will cost more. You can buy what ever color you want and buy the flake separate, at least thats how I use to mix it for cars I painted a few years ago.

I talked to a local "custom" bike shop here and they wanted 1500 to repaint the whole bike House of Kolor gloss black... eff that lol

Candy apple red with gold flake is still one of my favorite colors.

damn, those green colored tins are pretty badass

But hopefully just silver flake with nothing else wont be more than a few hundred.. like 300. I really want real chunky flake, so its not too glittery looking LOL

@aaron48, that sounds like a helluva deal to me. let me know what the new price is going to be!

Getting my tank and rear fender done right now by liquid illusions. Hok root beer over a silver with some pagan gold in the mix. $1000. Darren at liquid is top notch. Worth every cent.

Wow man, 1500 to paint a bike out here is insane money. My friend paints out my shop and he will do a complete bike for around 800.00 max with solid colors and flakes. He is doing my nightster now gold flake with candy green striping. Any airbrushing is ofcourse higher and sport bikes are a little higher due to more body parts. But for example he did this sport bike, completely airbrushed in skulls and the candy apple red over top for 2000.00
