i had my wires on top of my back bone and i pushed my tank down to see how far I could get it, a 1 inch would do but thats really tight with the factory connectors.

can you do a lift and wire tuck without moving the coil & key? but getting rid of the plastic casing as well?

I got it done but i'm not happy with the wire tuck....tried posting pics but I can't get them to load up on photobucket. the wires that run down the front down tube (the ignition wires I think) don't have enough slack to go all the way up to the down tube. So you can see them. I'm thinking if I just redo the wire tuck starting at the front instead of the rear they might work. Anywho with my 12" apes and new paint the 2" lift looks bad ***

I have seen a tank lift done without a wire tuck or coil/key relocation.

I don't think I've ever seen a tank lift and wire tuck without a coil relocation on an 07 or newer bike.

Moving the coil will not void the warranty any more than a wire tuck. I have not seen a coil fail on an 07-up Sporty, ever, out of thousands. I think you can do a coil relo (leaving the ignition key where it is) and a tank lift and wire tuck with no more warranty exposure than doing a wire tuck.

If you pinch or cut a wire doing the wire tuck, the warranty would be at risk, but if you take your time, you will not have an issue with the wires.

If you want to give it a shot, would love to see some pics when you're done. Here's a link to doing a wire tuck, just leave the coil & ignition in place and move all the wires you can.

Yeah, you can get that one wire to run down the downtube, instead of cutting across that open space. See link above.
