Default Should I paint or powder coat my gas tank

I am going to have my gas tank and fenders repainted, should I have it spray painted or powder coated, I had some brackets powder coated, and they came out nice, but I think powder coating is more costly, what are the pros and cons, thanks!

I believe powder coating holds up a lot better than paint too, if they have PC them in the color you want I vote for PC

This. PC will likely last longer, but it definitely costs more. It's up to you, really. I've seen some amazing work done with just a spray can so re-doing it now and then is no big deal.

If you go with PC and you get a chip it has to be re-done.

I rattle canned mine.

People act like the fender and tank take such abuse on the road. It's not a cars front bumper in buffalo new york after it snowed, there is salt, and cinders etc. Just paint it. Powdercoat is not even close to necessary.

I spray painted my strut covers and headlight with rustoleum for 9 bucks. Some other guys on the forum gave me the idea. It was fun, and I know I can easily touch it up and match it if I swap a part. Maybe powder coating is better for things that take more abuse, like pegs, bars, etc.

There is a guy here that does powder coatings. His whole bike is done. I like it and if I need to get my bike repainted I would get it powder coated. The powderpro.com One of the sponsors here.
