You have some guts to chop up a brand new bike like that but it looks fantastic.
Have to say though your mechanical skills are a lot better than your camera skills.

Awesome bike man-Very good job! Yeah it does take some ***** to chop on a brand new bike. That 170 looks right at home on there.

170 or larger you say? Hmmmm...wonder what my Nightster will allow for. I thought the stock width was absolute max on these. Did the chop open it up for more room or?

The only thing I'm not really digging is the skronny struts. I'd have gone Biltwell or DK Custom on those. Also not a fan of the super apes, but that's completely rider preference.

Thanks a lot, now my gears are turning on new rear meat.

The bike looks awesome! I really like the look of the rear fender. Did you just cut it and then bring it to a paint shop to have it touched up, or did you have it completely repainted? did you have to do any special mods to keep the rear lights in that location, like bring back the mounting hole? Or is it in the exact spot as the stock location? For some reason it seems like they are pushed back from stock in the photo. Could be just because of the fender.
Thanks,

-Chris

How long are the struts? Would they fit an 1994 Sporty?

Thanks, the apes are only 14" most guys are running 16" which I would consider a "super ape" haha.

As for the rear tire, im sure the chop would help it fit a bigger tire because all the reflector mounts and such are not there anymore. Which leaves the next closest point of rubbing at the belt. I have about 1/2" to a 1" between the tire and the belt so id say a 180 would fit no problem. Good luck

I cut the front and rotated it forward I also riveted the splash guard back on and everything fits great. No real painting I just plasti dipped the part where I cut which is hidden when the fender is mounted.
Only 1 of the mounting holes is still on the frame because i cut a good 4-5" out of the frame. As for the signals i made my own mounts for them out of tube then used longer bolts and the factoy hole closest to the front of the bike to mount the signals and the fender.
