Default Fuel light staying on

I have a 2008 sportster 1200 L, I just replaced the speedometer with a used unit from e-bay and now my fuel light stays on,
any ideas?

Kinda sounds like a pre-existing condition with the speedO Can you ship it back and get a new 1?..... I don't know how to check it?

I've never owned a bike that new. You have to go off the odometer on my bikes dude, sorry.

Well finally figured out what the deal is with the light.
I pulled the codes and it had a code = B1005 for the fuel level sending unit...
I guess is going to need a new sensor....
