Yesterday I took the tank trim off the bike. I let it sit in the sun for a while and tried to use dental floss, but it kept on breaking, so I used some fishing line and made sure to pull away from the bike. I used some 3M adhesive remover to get the excess tape and glue off and the paint underneath looked great.

I knew the stock gas cap stuck up too high, so I went to the local dealer to look around since they had a sale going on this weekend. Turns out they make a flush mount gas cap for the Sportsters and I bought it.

The tank definitely looks bigger without the trim, not that it's a bad thing. That flush mount caps cleans everything up nicely too.
