Default 1981 Ltd Edition XLH

This is number 630 of 1000.

I have a brand new 2013 Ultra Ltd Anniversary also, and with all the time I spend traveling for business, I really can't ride both bikes enough. Any suggestiions on where I might find the right home for this rare find?

Default 1981 LTD edition

I, at one time, own #853 of 1000. I loved that bike. And that paint, I thought it looked great...appeared black until the sun hit it just right...then the red shown through. I wish I still had it. But unfortunately I had to sell it to pay of a second motgage on my house.

2012-Peanut, if you are wanting to personalize the bike I would suggest just buying new tins and store the originals so the bike can be put back to original if you decide to sell it in the future.

Any other clarification and significance of this “series one” would be greatly appreciated.
i have number 417 of 1000 and the it looks identical the paint is a black with purple pearl over lay . Mine is a 1980 though

hi y'all
i know this thread is pretty old , but has new posts !?!?, (2 years ago) but its the subject matter thats important, probably the original thread starter has long sold his sportster, any way just thought i would put my 2 cents in the pot , lol ,

as stated Harley-Davidson made 3 separate series paint sets to celebrate the Companies buy back from AMF
Series I was the Sportster Edition
Series II was the Big Twin FXEF Super Glide Fat Bob
Series III was the Big Twin FXE Super Glide

heres a few images i've collected of theses Limited Edition Paint Sets . . .

Series I , Sportster . . .

Series II FXEF Fat Bob , front Fender looks like it was modified to fit W.G. Forks ? . . .

Series III FXE Super Glide . . .

Remember these were Limited Edition Paint Sets that were sold to people who then put them on their Machines, not actual Limited Edition Bikes

Hi Y'all ,
back again just thought i would post a few images of these Paint sets that were put on a Machine, whats cool about these sets, because they fit multiple years & models the Owner can Customise their Machines how they like ,& therefore no 2 are the same as if they were regular production Models ! OEM but still Custom , . . .cool

Series I Sportster . . .

Series II Super Glide FXEF . . .

Series III Super Glide FXE . . .

I used to have a 1980 Sportster that had one of these paint sets. Didn't know at the time how rare they were. It didn't matter though, the crackheads who had it before me ruined it.
