Couple of questions for 883 Iron owners
Hey folks,
I've been riding for almost 30 years, mostly sport bikes and dirt bikes, however in the last year or so I've had the itch to get a Harley. The big cruisers and touring bikes don't for me, I rode a Street Glide but found it just too big.
I love the look of the 883 Iron, but I'm 6ft and 180lbs. Will it be a little small for me comfort wise. I hear with forwards its better.
90% of my riding is local, commuting to work, day trips with the guys, and two or three multi day trips. Will I be able to tolerate 5-8hrs in the saddle a day. I know it needs an aftermarket seat to make it bearable, and the suspension is "firm".
If I get one, I plan on throwing on some saddlebags and getting a small detachable windscreen for long road trips.
Thanks

You are the same height and weight as me, well, today I weighed myself at 185 lbs but basically the same.
I have forward controls and sometimes feel a tiny bit cramped but it's not a deal breaker at all. I still have the stock seat, and really, I don't get numb butt or anything unless I'm in the saddle for a really long time.
I ride every single day, rain or shine and I commute to work and ride for pleasure.
I'm sure that you will be fine, especially if you do the upgrades you plan on doing.
