DK Customs Thunder Torque Inserts Review
#81
Just messaged DK Support to try to get 258s for my 118s. Once I get the 258s I plan on cutting out my baffles. I really like the idea of cutting off the "cone" section of the stock slip ons, it gives the bike and exhaust an entirely different look. Plus with that section removed I can drop in the 258s and get as much power as I can out of the stock exhaust with that deeper tone that I have been wanting! Can't wait!

Here's an update of my Thunder Torque inserts now including the 158W. They were a tighter squeeze to get in but I think they sound better than the 118 in my pipe. felt like better low end kick while riding too.

Removed my TTI W118 and installed the TTI W158....appears to be a much better fit.
Posted the sounds videos of the W118 and W158 on my thread "Let's HEAR what you got...".

Here is the video of the TTI W158
Not much difference in sound from the W118, but simply awesome performance (low-mid range torque and power) change with the W158. The best part...it is a low cost-high benefit upgrade. Simple to install. Highly recommended. DK Customs has the best customer service I have experienced.
Check out my thread, "Let HEAR what you got..." for comparison between the W118 and W158

So, I installed short shots the other day and then last night just put in the 118s. Idk if I can tell a difference because I didn't really ride a lot with the short shots. I still get some decal popping and stuff but that's okay. I assume they are doing something and helping to some degree. I also couldn't get the round part to be exactly in the middle of the pipe because the threads were not long enough to go through the heat shield and the pipe and allow it to be right in the middle.

In the meantime, it sounds like your situation is similar to threadfish and mine. The W118 was to small for the pipes to make a real difference. Refer to posts and pics above to give you an idea of how it looked in our pipes...then you can compare with yours. What is the inside diameter of your short shots?
