New/ first bike
'13 Forty Eight, one month old, ~550 miles.
I'm damn proud of my one month progression and really dig the bike now. I liked the bike stock but it felt like I was on a rental until it got the right twists; stock anything just sucks.
DK - 1.5" Tank lift/ wire tuck, coil/ key relo, Taylor plug wires
Joker Machine - Countershaft cover, triple tree fork caps/ stem bolt
RSD - Air cleaner, grips, levers
HD - Flush mount gas cap, drag bars, black diamond cables/ braided brake line, smoked/ relocated front indicators, SE Super Tuner w/ S1 Mapping
D&D Bobcat 2-1
Deleted both belt guards/ wire harness junk cowling, painted headlight trim ring
Future plans: Bare bones or equivalent (more supportive than stock) saddle.
I'm debating 883 gearing but think if it makes more steam it will counteract that desire. It is, after all, a street bike but with light to light brawler tendencies. Factory to stage 1 was pretty significant gains I must say but. . . If I find the money tree, SE heads/ .536 cams/ High comp slugs w/ dyno
tune.

Thats a nice bike! That exhaust works on the 48 real good, but would look odd on my custom lol. Stock exhaust looks good on the style of my bike.
Anyway, I always say the best way to make a sportster perform better is to start from the ground up. If you want to see what them mods can really do then get new tires. You will go from breaking the rear loose to holy **** I really need to hang on tighter! Pirelli, Avon, hell even Shinko 777s blow away the stock tires. If you are not breaking that stock rear tire loose or sliding in curves, then you aint even seen what that bike can do, even in stock form.

I certainly can't do it myself, but I love seeing it done.

You certainly may not be able to do it, I dont doubt it for a second, most can not. However the bike can.
If you got stock tires on your ride I can do one better. Come on over and we will hit up some of the nice curves around my parts. I will ride past you on your bike and show you.
Only application I see stock tires being used with performance mods is a show bike.
