Default update on jetting "46 & 190"

So I replaced the 46 with a 45 and its working out very well. I felt a improvement on highway speeds 60 to 90. The bike was not "screaming" as much and had alot smoother acceleration at those speeds. I bought a 180 and 185 and I planned to put the 180 in but when I went to put it in, I noticed that the opening of the jet holder was too small to put the main jets in that I bought from the dealership. Also the thread on both as less fine than the 190. I am guessing that the previous owner bought a kit or something and changed the main jet holder. So what do I do now? Buy a original jet holder from the dealer?

Try CVP, they have an emulsion tube that might work well, and be less expensive. You might have a Dynojet kit in there, I think they come with a replacement emulsion tube and needle. Might want to take it out and see if there are any markings.

Here you go, jets and all:

Yea, the Dynojet kits used their own emulsion tubes and jets that have different threads. I agree, get the right emulsion tube from CVP as John suggested.

Ugh, I hate the dynojet kit. No matter how much I tuned it, I just could never get it quite right. The needle was poorly shaped and the thunderslide never worked well. I swapped mine out completely to the stock slide and CVP Stage 1 kit. It's much smoother, better fuel economy, and I'm sure the next time I decide to get it dyno'd it will show better power.

The fuel gets sucked up through it and metered by the needle jet/needle. The emulsion tube has some holes in it that help mix the air with the fuel, emulsifying it, before it gets into the engine. In essence it helps mix it and make the fuel atomize better so it is easier to burn.

Also, can I suggest, if you're going to be changing stuff in your carb, get in there and see what stuff is actually in there right now. If you have the dynojet needle, slide, emulsion tube, and other stuff in there, you may want to look into getting the CVP Stage 1 kit and an OEM slide to replace the junk that was in there. It would be more pricy, but it's a much better setup.

I second you needle to check out the needle setup if it had the dynojet kit installed. The website John listed looks like a good site. I need to do some snooping for myself.

What kit would you recommend?

Pull it apart and post up some pictures. You may just need a new emulsion tube. But the person before you may have also put the thunderslide kit in it also. You need to find out if slide and spring was changed also.

here is an example http://www.leatherup.com/p/Cruiser-M...FQoFnQodH0sAyA

I think I am just going to change everything and put in a cvp premium kit in it. I defintely will take pictures and post them but you gotta let me know how to post pictures on here. The kit is less than 80 bucks and has very very good reputation
