Default Tire Pressures

This may be a silly question, but should one go by tire pressure listed on tire or in manual? I used to go by manual, but I have new tires (Marathon 880), thanks.

Go by the tire manufacturer's recommendations.

Always go by the tire manufacturers recommendation.

For the Metz 880:
Front - 38
Rear Solo - 40
Rear 2up - 42

Also, for some more good info, the tire pressure listed on the sidewall of the tire is the MAXIMUM cold inflation pressure for that tire.

The only time you fill it that high is if you are loading the tire to its maximum capacity (you can get close 2-up with luggage on the rear tire). The tire is not meant to be run that inflated all the time.
