Being new in the HD world I need advise on the purchase of saddlebags which fits my 2000 model 1200S Sportster. I would like to keep the bike original and require saddlebags which could fit without any modifications to the bike.

 

If you don't want to do any mods I think the only way you could go is with some throw over bags. Most all are adjustable, just remove the screw on the rear of your seat, throw the saddlebags over the rear fender and re-secure your seat over the saddle bag throw over strap.

Welcome, the more saffers the better.

My suggestion is to ride the bike down to WoA or Full Throttle & test fit a few sets of throw overs there. My experience has been that the kind of bags readily available here tend to foul the rear indicators.

I got a set of Cruiser III Nylon Slant throw over bags. They look good on my bike and have alot of room in them. I chose the extra large bags. Spring and fall weather are so crazy down here in Savannah, that I can carry what I need to stay warm or dry and still have room left over for whatever. They also have a leather line of bags. The Harley Shop here in Savannah also had them,size small, in stock so I got a hands-on look at em before I purchased them.
